Please have a read my Protestant and Catholic borthers and sisters and tell me what you think. Please look at the website first before commenting. It is easy to speak without thinking as anyone can do that.

A few of the Protestants have not looked at this website and just made comments. Please read the website properly and the content before judging. I don't care if it takes you two days to read before coming back. Some people just make statements without thought.

Jean, no true Catholic worships Mary! If they did tell you that they are either a liar or had some incorrect non catholic teaching. Read the website properly even if it takes you a few days to read the sections and come back to me. You make judgements without research. It was the Catholic Church that put the books of the Bible together guided by the Holy Spirit. The Bible did not put itself together.

Let look at some simple logic as well Mary. If Mary was a sinner as you state she is. Then how could she one conceive Jesus in her womb and give birth to him. If Mary was a sinner, Jesus would take the sinful blood and DNA of Mary into his own unborn body. As Jesus is God he would not allow this. Mary is needed to be a pure vessal of Love to carry God himself in her womb so sin does not pollute his being. The Church teaches Mary is without sin. No where does it teach She is God. Read the section on Mary in this website my lady.

Some of the comments also suggest that some of the protestants who accuse the catholic church no little about the religion other then what their pastors or protestant apologetic books say. Go to this site and spend time reading what is written to get a clearer idea. See what Catholics believe first rather then what protestant apologetics believe Catholics believe...

I have studied the RCC in detail. It is based more on traditions of man and not on the bible. I have studied church fathers including Eusebius and his teachings do NOT follow RCC treachings.
Heres just a few things from the web site you posted:

"What Church? Scripture reveals this Church to be the one Jesus Christ built upon the rock of Saint Peter (Matt. 16:18). By giving Peter the keys of authority (Matt. 16:19),"
The "rock" the RCC teaches is false. The Rock is Jesus NOT peter. Jesus is the corner stone. Is there salvation through Peter? From the greek, translated Matt reads like this, "15"But what about you?" he asked. "Who do you say I am?"

16Simon Peter answered, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."

17Jesus replied, "Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by man, but by my Father in heaven. 18And I tell you that you are Peter,[b] and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades[c] will not overcome it." Think about it. What is the rock? It is Jesus!

Then there's the Mary worship. Prayer IS worship. the bible says, "the dead know not what goes on under the sun." The physically dead. Is Mary Omnipotent? NO. the Bible says "We have one mediator to God, Jesus the christ."

The ever virgin. The bible says, "Joseph did not KNOW her UNTIL the birth of Jesus" The bible names 4 of this brothers and says he had 2 sisters. Also so does Eusebius and discusses James, his brother (1/2) being a leader in Jerusalem.
The bible calls Jesus her firstborn son (Phototokon) NOt only born (Monogene). this is a no brainer.
Mary sinless-total lie. Mary is only mentioned once at a prayer meeting in the book of Acts. Why would Mary be sinless? Only Jesus is mentioned in bible as sinless. Jesus said, "who is my mother, who is my brother...one who does the will of the father..."
Mary taken up to heaven without death-lie
there's not room here or time to list all the lies from the RCC. INcluding worship of idols. Read this web site. I read yours. It's from a former RC nun. She left the church because of Mary worship.
I have many former RCC people at my church. Most have told me they read the NT and realized the lies the RCC teaches. Pray about this. Do you really truly want to know the truth about God and his teachings? Pray.

Half truths are a dangerous place to stop. One of the 'half truths' (that are dividing) Catholic and Protestant sects alike is i.e. defining Old Testament as Genesis-Malachi. Yes that 'thing' does exist presently; but it is not scripture (violating 2 Tim. 3:16-17). The scriptural old testament is the law of Moses. (Apply Matt. 18:16, 2 Cor.`13:1). The law is referred to as (KJV) the old testament (2 Cor. 3:13-14); many other English translations may render it 'old covenant'. There are other unscriptural additions to God's word also; but I will stop here for now!!!

if you're think to stay with assistance from the hot testomony. Then why do catholics base there maximum of there faith on the old? Purgatory, praying to the useless, saints, and so on. is all in the old testomony. Purgatory isn't in the hot testomony. Rev. 21:27 states that no individual unclean can enter heaven. Purgatory cleans your heart. the rosary isn't said in the bible. Regardless, it really is a prayer meant for honoring Jesus' resurrection from the useless. How is a prayer unbiblical? It says in the bible to no longer call your everybody yet god. "father". so why call a clergyman faller? Father refers to everybody who's smart and takes once you. what about confessionals? it says all sins are forgiven, you may say sorry with a repentant heart. maximum catholics I ask say you dont could flow to confessionals. yet in case you've been to ask a clergyman. the priest ought to assert your no longer catholic. so yeah i'm at a loss for words. Confession cleanses the middle and soul. it really is wiser to flow to Confession than to easily pray for forgiveness, yet there are various exceptions.

It all boils down to the fact that the catholic wants to be in power, every thing through the Bishop, Pope, and priest. They say they believe in Jesus Christ, but they want to leave Him out to the side. You gotta go to the priest for blessings and forgiveness, The "Rock" means Christ Himself. The main things is, you stick to your Faith and I'll stick to mine. I'm sorry, but a few things said here I should have kept to myself.

"... You are the Christ" Christ's church not
Catholic church

2nd Petre was the rock given the keys

Never was he made a pope (no pope) in the bible
Peter was an Apostle and never was called Rabbi (Mtt 231-4)
Peter never built another tabernacle Christ's church was and is still the only one (Mtt. 17 1-5;Heb. 8:1,2; Eph 4 1-4; Col 1.24)

THERE ARE TWO THINGS WE CAN DO W/SCRIPTURE:

1. ACCEPT what it says and FOLLOW it's instructions.

2. REJECT what it says and then TRY TO JUSTIFY our man-made doctrine/tradition by taking the Bible out of context (historical, geographic, grammatic, etc.)

THIS SITE AND THIS QUESTION ARE EXAMPLES OF THE LATTER.

*****************************************************************
Written by a born-again, Christian who grew up in a catholic family and became an atheist at 13...until the Truth of the glorious gospel (good news) of Jesus Christ set me free...

I don´t need to look at the website to know what it´s about (worshipping Mary as God or as co-Savior, both unscriptural practices).

You want Scripture?

What does Jeremiah 7:8 refer to?

The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead their dough, to make cakes to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto other gods, that they may provoke Me [the LORD] to anger.

catholics and Protestants are not "brothers and sisters" as you stated. For catholics to be part of God's family, they would first need to be adopted into His family per John 1:12-13 instructions:

But as many as received [Jesus], to them [Jesus] gave power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on [Jesus'] name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

Some catholics have already done so and God bless them for it. But the catholic "church" as an institution does not preach salvation through faith in Christ alone (Eph. 2:8-9) and Acts 4:12 (below) but through deeds and exclusively through the catholic "church". But the Word of God clearly states:

Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

May God bless you with faith in His Son.

EDIT

Salomon said: There is nothing new under the sun...(Ecl.)

This is an old issue. It adds nothing new to the discussion.

For those who don't read, you say "read the whole thing".
For those who read and don't agree with it or with you, you say: "Read properly" (i.e., regurgitate what I already decided I want you to say).

Law, law, law. Typical catholic response.

Why should I read this entire site?

First of all, it's boring. Second of all, it's not true. Third of all, it's for catholics who want to copy Protestants (again) and adopting their tactics to make themselves look more righteous. Since I'm not a catholic, I have no reason to read this (other than to find flaws in all your arguments and to uncover unbliblical examples).

Fourth, catholics use APOCRIPHAL books in their version of the Bible against Rev. 20's instruction not to add unto Scripture.
