The Holy Bible has many translations, some more current than others.
Does the same exist for the Qur'an and which English translation is the recommended for reading?

Yahoo ate my 'a'. The question should say "Is there a recommended English translation of the Qur'an?"

If you want to read the actual Quran you have to read it in Arabic. The Quran is still preserved in the language, word for word what was revelead to the Prophet (pbuh).
However if you cannot read Arabic, you can read a translation. These are however not 100% correct as they are human works and can contain mistranslations etc.
The Yusuf Ali translation is the one that is Saudi endorsed. The Shakir translation is a more modern English.

I have heard from many people that the translation by Yusuf Ali is the best

There is only one official translation, search Google for the "Official translation of the holy Quran".

top quran translators are such Yusuf Ali and Shakir.

Yusuf Ali is great, has English , Arabic, and phonetic Arabic
