First of all stomach stapling is a dangerous and unecessary procedure. If your worried about hurting your friends feelings, give them some hints about dieting instead. Be helpful and creative letting them knw you care about their health. Any friend will be thankful that you wanted to help them or they are not friend at all.

How can you possibly think that it is any of your business what they do? They know that they are overweight and certainly don't need you telling them what YOU think they need to do. They are reminded of their weight everyday when they look in the mirror and are most likely aware of procedures and diets that available right now. You would be a better friend if you would volunteer your time to walk with them or be a gym buddy. Nobody wants to exercise alone and having someone there to encourage them would probably help get them motivated. The key word here is "encourage" not "disparage" not "dictate".

Stomach stapling is quite a desperate last resort. Have they been on any other diet/exercise regimes first?
Really, it's only their Dr that can tell them that they need their stomach stapled - when all other avenues have been explored.

I don't think you should be giving out medical advice unless you are a doctor. And some times doctors do malpractice, who staples their tummys for them then?

TO TELL YOU THE TRUTH,YOU ARE NOT A FRIEND IF YOU FEEL THAT YOUR FRIEND NEEDS A THEIR STOMACH STAPLED,YOU HAVE TO ACCEPT THAT PERSON FOR THE WAY HE OR SHE IS.I DON'T AGREE WITH YOU THAT SOMEONE NEED A STOMACH TUCK,IT IS NOT YOUR DECISION,VERY CRUEL.

The easy answer is that you don't. Possibilities are that your friend has already thought about it, if you're willing to point it out. The only thing you can and should do it to be supportive with their decision and leave it be.

You don't, they already know they are big and have probably thought about that themselves, thy don't need you to remind them.

They already know that they are fat, so don't worry about it.
