does anyone know how you can prove that a piece of land has never been burned?

secondary vegetation tells us something ,but over time (and what time 100 years ,1000,one million)it becomes impossible to know
you have to put a calender into this question.

Seeing as how the earth has been around for 4.5 billion years, I would say that is impossible to prove.
