My appliances are white and I'm going to paint my cupboards white also, then do some of the tin tiling for the backsplash and the stove and oven area.

I was going to suggest a light colour like celery green but since the appliances and cabinets are white and the backsplash will be tin, I'd go for a darker colour.
Kitchens are supposed to be painted in colours of food but you don't have to stick with that rule. If it was me, I'd go for something along the line of a darkish taupe or if you get a lot of light in the kitchen you could even go a chocolate brown. Bring in a splash of colour like reds, oranges, yellows in accessories or wallpaper border. Remember to hang the border on the top of the wall - it's no longer "in" to hang it half way up the wall. If you don't want a border, try a big piece of colourful art on one wall, and coloured seat pads on your chairs.

I'm not sure what the most popular colors are right now but I painted my kitchen bright yellow and green with prange accents. I bought orange, green, and yellow dishes as well as silverware. I love it and everyone comments on how much they like it.
Good Luck and remember it's only a gallon of paint you can change anytime!

The brown/beige is a heat blend that could nicely be very wealthy. From the different colorings defined, i might lean in the direction of a medium/dark gray. Tint it in the direction of the violet so it has tricks of the different colorings, yet do no longer make it chilly.

A light green in one of those low-gloss kitchen enamels would look good. It is bright, not obtrusive, and can always be washed down. It brings in an outdoorsy glow that is very cheery..

I would go for an olive green color or a terra cotta color.
