Luke
This is thought to be one reason the genealogies in Mathew and Luke read a bit differently. One was from the perspective of a Jew, Mathew, the other a gentile, Luke.
Paul was a Jew even thought it was his mission to preach to the Gentiles.

Luke, he was a Greek physician.
creatrix,
Paul was a Jew. Not only that he was a nearly a flawless Jew, according to the flesh, which profits nothings.
Read Philippians 3: 1-11.
God choose Paul to preach to the gentiles because he was a pure Jew according to the law, and a practicing Jew according to the flesh. God wanted to show us through Paul a good Jew, that the flesh profits nothing.
Read that passage a gave you at the beginning of Philippians Chapter 3.

All of the Apostles were Jewish. Paul was the Apostle(not one of the original 12) to the Gentiles. Luke was the gentile but was not one of the 12 Apostles, he was an Apostle under Paul
