That goes way back when Henry V111 the eighth had so many wives and they all became inter -related from marriage in-laws and they used this inter marriage deal to use the tie to the royal family.Like today if u had a in-law tie to Bill Gates, or to Madonna somewhere in a family tree research someone's name who was not a true sur-name member might show up.
