I have a relative coming back soon and I found his unit has to have this. What is it?

a post deployment 96 means that the Commanding Officer has granted 4 days of special liberty to the crew. This usually encompasses a weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday off), but I've seen some CO's give 4 workdays off as a 96. It probably depends on when the unit is supposed to be back (what day).

Glad to hear he's back safe.

96 hours of special liberty when they return home. AKA for you civilians, 96 hours of time off without being charged any leave days.
