and that plants feel pain? How ridiculous. Plants do not have a central nervous system, beating hearts, and warm blood, like animals do. I harvest vegetables from my garden daily, and have yet to "kill" one of my plants. If I pick a cucumber, two more will be in its place tomorrow. If I DON'T pick the cucumber, it will rot on the vine, being a waste. And to my knowledge, omnivores eat both meat and vegetables, so that argument is pretty silly either way. I chose to consume things that don't have warm eyes, and are capable of giving birth to their young. Do people that say such idiotic things have guilt issues, or what?

Thats not as stupid as eating fish and saying their vegetarians. I bet crabs are really scared when they get pulled out of the water just so people can crush they're legs for a little dead meat.
Since you like to say that soybeans have scorpion genes in them maybe those plants do feel pain. How much pain does a cow go through when it's forced to get pregnant and give birth just so you can have a nonstop supply of milk? How much pus is in that milk because its udders never get to rest?
What part of north carolina has cucumbers in march?
Why don't you feel guiltly for lying?

I think people say that because they want to point out a hypocrisy among vegetarians who smugly take the high moral ground by claiming meat eaters to be "murderers." They note that plants are alive too, and that be eating them you are eating living things.
I don't think it's a successful argument either, as plants are not sentient and there's no reason to think they are conscious of any pain. However, some plants do react to outside stimuli.
But the basic psychology here is that meat eaters feel like vegetarians are rather smug and hypocritical about being being kinder and more enlightened than everyone else.

What a stupid question. Does a plant breathe, does it make noises, does it sense discomfort, does it walk around, does it have a concepts? The checklist could bypass on and on. flora are purely flora. Animals could have as lots rights as human beings do. human beings have no splendid to easily verify they are in a position to do away with the lives of harmless animals purely by way of fact they have weapons and the animals won't be in a position to take care of themselves. human beings think of they have the splendid to verify no count if or no longer they are in a position to consume meat or no longer...they could no longer also have a decision, it is going to no longer be their option to make, animals have not got a decision. They get pushed right into a van, pushed away questioning what's going to ensue and then bam, they get killed horribly. i won't be in a position to desribe how incorrect that's. Animals have lives of their very own, no person even thinks approximately that. human beings purely prefer astonishing tasty nutrition yet do no longer care what an animal has long previous by using to grant them a touch nutrition on their plate...which isn't favored. I even have very very good perspectives in this. i like being vegetarian and all human beings could be. i do no longer care what you idiotic meat eaters think of roughly that.

I've been looking at many of your posts and while I do agree with you about the whole ridiculous "How can vegetarians kill plants" I also think it's silly of you to say that you're vegetarian but you "sometimes" eat fish. I guess the meat eaters out there aren't the only fools....

Plants are living and alive, just not with the same systems animals have, of course.
I agree though, it's a silly argument. I don't thinks it's particularly effective when either side gets up on their soapbox and starts preaching about which is "better". I prefer to point out how animals are actually helping people who are starving in parts of the world where fruits and vegetables won't grow.
In any event, plants are living. Just check your ficus the next time you forget to water it ;o)

My guess is that people who say you're killing your plants before you eat them are probably just sick and tired of vegans/vegitarians trying to force them to feel guilty about eating meat by using terms like "warm eyes" and "capable of giving birth to their young."
Who really cares? You eat vegetables, I eat meat. So what? This is how life is. Nothing you do or say (and before I go any further, by "you" I mean herbivores in general, not YOU specifically) will convince me to ever stop eating meat, and nothing I ever do or say will convince you to start eating meat. Why bother? Really? You're putting up a good fight, trying to save the poor, defenseless creatures, but really--people have been eating meat since the beginning of time, and I hazard a guess that people will continue to eat meat until armageddon.
Drop it.

They think it is the same as killing sentient animals and that they have scored one up on us! In reality it is far more cruel to kill a sweet loving animal but they just want to salve their consciences. It is like the 'Hitler was a vegetarian ' nonsense - he cut out a lot of meat but was never vegetarian, they don't ever stop to think that Ghengis Khan was an omnivore. it is just a little ego trip to make them feel a little better about their diets.

It kills more plants to eat meat anyways, when you raise animals for meat, YOU FEED THEM PLANTS, those carnivores indirectly kill many plants. Imagine how much space is needed to raise animals for meat, it takes up much less space and plant lives to only eat plants and other things that dont move like mushrooms.

Because they are fools...
"No sense in being an as*shole if you can't prove it." Right?
and I just wanted to say that I thought your answer on the ADHD question is brilliant!
You are a good mother. More than I can say for the rejects who hop their own flesh and blood up on medications just to make their children easier for them to deal with. So few people are willing to adjust their lifestyles to heal their own kids and are fast to give them these horrible drugs. It amazes me! You should be looked up to and respected for what you did for your children... It is obvious you love them!
Kudos to you! I wish you and your children peace and happiness forever!

Oh shut up. They do kill plants. Plants are a living, breathing thing. So what if they can not feel pain? Some humans with nerve disorders can not feel pain. So you are saying, all because certain people can not feel pain, when someone murders them, they are not "killing" them all because they can not feel it. Just hush. Plants are just about as alive as humans are. When you burn a bush, you're killing it,
