Hilight what you want to copy. Then hit control-C for copy, or Control-X for cut, and Control-V for paste.
In many programs, you can use from a menu the Copy command or from a toolbar a Copy button. In MS Word, you go to the edit menu, then choose copy. That will copy what you have hilighted.

I think this is the easiest and fastest way to copy and paste.
1.-You can go to the menu "Edit": and "Select all", or you can select a phrase, paragraph,, or parts of the text holding the left click from left to right, over the words, phrases or paragraphs that you want , and they will be cover by a blue strip.
2.-Go to the "Edit " menu , and click in "Copy"
3.- With this operations you will be able to Paste what you have selected anywhere you want.
4.-To paste your selection, that you have "Copy", locate the place where you want to paste your selection, make a left click, then go to "Edit" , and click in "Paste".
Other alternate way to paste is to locate the place where you want to paste, make a left click, and in the same place make a right click and in the small window that will show up select "Paste".

depend of what you want to copy and paste.
usually you select the area or text you want to copy and
with right click on mouse btn select COPY
shortcut is Ctrl + C (works better where right click menu is disable)
and finally paste whith right click and PASTE
or Ctrl + V.

highlight text, press control and insert at the same time. then when you want to paste, use shift and insert. this works almost any program. otherwise, highlight text and then right click, there should be a "copy" function.

highlight area for copy "Ctrl c" for copy "Ctrl x" for cut "Ctrl v" for paste.
this is for windows, for linux or OSX use Alt instead of Ctrl. and Alt P for paste. makes more sense but is out of the way.
you can also highlight the selection right click on you mouse and select: cut, copy or paste. this works for both windows and linux and OSX for that matter.
