I think I may have possibly had a small one when I thought my computer was broken last week.
The anxiety disorders are the most common, or frequently occurring, mental disorders. A panic attack is a discrete period of intense fear or discomfort. These symptoms include palpitations, sweating, trembling, shortness of breath, sensations of choking or smothering, chest pain, nausea or gastrointestinal distress, dizziness or lightheadedness, tingling sensations, and chills or blushing and “hot flashes.” The attack typically has an abrupt onset, building to maximum intensity within 10 to 15 minutes. Most people report a fear of dying, “going crazy,” or losing control of emotions or behavior.
Benzodiazepines like diazepam, lorazepam, alprazolam or clonazepam can be prescribed to be taken at the onset of the panic attack.

Google DSM III R or DSM IV for diagnostic criteria. Acutely, benzodiazepines like alprazolam or lorazepam are effective but have the drawback of being habituating. Antidepressants, both the older polycyclic types and the newer SSRI's, are quite good at limiting the attacks but are not useful at the time of an attack. Psychotherapy, especially cognitive therapy has been shown to be quite useful as well, and needn't be long-term. As little as six weeks' outpatient psychotherapy may be most beneficial.

Sweating and worring too much panicking like when you have a feeling of dread. and it feels like someone is stealing your breath. Weakness in limbs and a feeling of helplessness its horrible. I am diagnosed with both. I would hit the bong but once in a great while it would make it worse. There is counseling and meds for that. But whats worse govt' meds or herbs. I think St. Johnswort vitamins help for that.
Good Question

Usually bought on by extreme stress, some symptoms are : difficulty breathing, fear of dying, numbness in arms and legs, feeling of throat constricting, pins and needles, fear of being left alone, shaking, crying. None of the symptoms are real, we only perceive them to be. Try seeing a healer, psychologist etc. whoever you prefer as this is a problem of mental and emotional distress. I only took homoepathic drops and they worked quite well, but not as well as removing the stressful person from my life! Good luck.

Rapid heartbeat, shortness of breath, trembling. I've had a few short episodes in the past. I never took anything for them, just a stressful time. You should talk to your doctor about it.
