as a brit i can tell you mike has the meaning right , for over hear anyway.
It where people meet in a secluded public place often swapping partners or teaming up etc, i think i need say no more than that

if your talking about hunting then dogging is hunting wild pigs with dogs. basically the dogs will run down a pig and hold it by the ears and then you need to get to it and stab it. thats in Australia though, its great for removing pigs and if you have good dogs they will pick out the big pigs. Great fun!

LOL I dunno about the brit thing, but in the southern US it means running a game animal or hunting birds with a dog. It can be deer,bear, wild hogs, rabbits or various game birds.
