What threatened them was mental vulnerability, usually in childhood. They were put in danger by parents, in whom they placed absolute trust. And the only thing they were saved from was objectivity.

Sin is what put me in danger. Man is sinful, just turn on the TV or read a newspaper perhaps just look in the mirror. God is holy, righteous, merciful and everything else that is good. He cannot allow sinful man into His heaven. He sent his son Jesus Christ to die as a propitiation for our sin. It had to be done, and Jesus willingly came to the earth lived a perfect sinless life and than went to the cross and died for our sin. If you will believe upon His name and confess that you are a sinner in need of Gods grace and mercy He will forgive you. You will have a new life in Christ, read the Bible and it will show you how to live as a Christian. Christians still sin, we try not to because of our love for Christ but we are not perfect. We are forgiven(saved).

Oh, how I hope you know how serious your plight is if you don't know what threatens you. We are saved from the warth of God; a wrath that lasts through all eternity. But this same warthful God whom we have offended also provides a way to escape. He sent His son that we might actually have His righteousness implanted within us. Read Romans 1-8 to get the true picture of how you are threatened.
