sounds mostly like major depressive disorder with psychotic features. some people, when they get severely depressed, can reach the point at which they hear/ see things.

schizophrenia or a related disorder, schizoaffective disorder, also sound possible in this case. don't forget about personality disorders, too, like borderline personality, etc.

Sounds like either severe bipolar disorder, or schizophrenia. Either way, they need to be evaluated and placed on the proper medication. If this person is unwilling to see someone to get the help they need, and if they are practicing or threatening harm to themself or others, the police can do what is called an EOD, which stands for an emergency order of detention. They will take them to an ER where they will be checked out, then they may be taken to and admitted, even against their will under the EOD. They can make them stay for a set period of time, which varies from state to state. In Okla. it is 3 days, in a mental health facility, like the psych ward in the hospital. They are evaluated by a psychiatrist and prescribed appropriate meds and other treatment, be it therapy in a group, private counceling, etc. Don't be afraid to contact someone regarding this person. They need help, and a good support system, which sometimes involves doing difficult things to help them. Obviously, you know it's not normal, healthy behavior, and not a good quality of life. If this individual had severe physical symptoms, such as chest pain or difficulty breathing, no one would hesitate to help them get the help they need. The same course should be followed for someone with mental health issues. Good luck!

It could be a form of schizophrenia. The person obviously needs to be assessed properly to get a proper diagnosis. The person needs help as they will get worse. My brother has psychotic schizophrenia, which is controlled well with medication. It is a scary thing.

People with these symptoms, hate and or fear other people...

and probably with good reason.

Hone your coping skills via intentional interaction and learn how to deal with idiots and their pretense and bullsh*it through journaling these interactions and learning from them both; how you work, and how they work.

If you don't play the games, or don't know how to play their games... They see you as weak and will eat you alive. It hurts, it causes reclusive behavior patterns and self loathing until you stand up for yourself, speak up for yourself and shove yourself in their faces and teach them how to deal... Like it or not!

"l'enfer, c'est les autres." (Hell, is other people.)

Sartre.

You probably don't have any of the above... You just need to learn how to love yourself and cope with as*sholes. You will never be able to medicate your way through that...

Immediate treatment is required. Schizophrenia is a possibility. See http://www.mayoclinic.com & http://www.nimh.nih.gov (.gov/medlineplus/ency/)
