CutePDF provides a PDF printer, when you print to CutePDF it creates a PDF file. This method will work with word, or any other application.

They have both a paid version and a free version, I believe the free version will work fine for most people. The setup will require you to download and install two programs, the main CutePDF application and the Ghostscript converter - links to both are on the CutePDF page.

Here is how I have always done it. I download Acrobat Reader. That is ALWAYS a free download, and from a major company. Once Reader is downloaded and properly installed, launch the program. Then, open MS Word and your document. When you are in your document, hit "Print". But choose the "Print to File" option and send it to Reader. That will convert it into a PDF file. Once you hit "Print" it takes less than 30 seconds, usually (unless it is a HUGE file) to convert from MS Word to PDF format.

You may want to try these websites. They have only a few listed for now.

This particular website happens to be a favorite of mine because I can keep a copy of my documents online and accessible from anywhere. One of its features is to convert to PDF. http://www.thinkfree.com/common/main.tfo

Hope this helps.
