Actually, male dogs hump each other to show that they are in the highest half of the pecking order and that they are NOT submissive... Also, if you dog is not neutered his hormones could be acting up quite a bit and in turn he humps anything he can get his paws on, they are quite horny until they have been fixed! Haha, it's the truth!

Dude, it's a dog... Dogs hump anything they can get their legs around, be glad it's the neighbors dog and not your leg. We had a fixed female that would do it to your leg or arm every once in a while. And when it happened, it was like on Christmas vacation (or was it vacation) "Once he gets started, you bests let him finish, Clark."
She would hump a large stuffed duck and a stuffed lamb, UNTIL she would be out of breath and falling to the floor exhausted. When we had to have her put to sleep, those two toys went with her in the ground. lol. We have a male neutured cat who likes to hump rope. If I let one of my ties lay around you can hear him in their bawling and grunting, you walk in the room and he'll have it between his legs with one end in his mouth and he gets this really shameful look on his face and drops whatever he has and acts like nothing was happening.
So really your dog is just an animal, It isn't gay, it might be a male whore, but it isn't gay.

That's dogs for you. Even females hump..when they have no need to when they don't posses the.. um, assets. It's a dog thing ingraved into all of their brains I guess.
It's fun to say he's gay. I'd say so. Lol. But no matter the gender, some dogs will hump whenever the heck they feel like it. :)

You are seeing a dominance behavior not a sexual one.
Dogs are not gay but they hump others of the same sex to show them that they are the more dominant dog.
