Why don't you use OpenOffice.. It's free and compatible with MS Office.

Microsoft Office is an expensive application (runs at $700 dollars for the full version). You can download a program that is similar to Office (and is free):

Just when you want to save the files, make sure you save them in the .doc (Microsoft Word Document) format so that you can open the files at school or on whatever computer has Microsoft Office installed..

No need to buy the installer or anything. There is a free substitute to it, OpenOffice. The interface is almost similar to MS-Office and you will have no difficulty in getting used to it. Moreover, it also supports all Office formats. The only thing is that it saves documents in .odt format by default, so take care that to save it in .doc format (for Word files) and so on.

BUT, if you learning Office at school, then this substitute won't do. In that case, you will have to get the installer package. I dunno anything about Singapore, so maybe others will help.

Buy the Proper Office Legally
Or get an OEM version from Amazon.
Alternatively get a Free Office Version that uses the Open Source codes

Try Open Office....it's free and it's extremely close to Win Office without the price tag. I use it exclusively now...has all the bells and whistles (excel database, calendar etc)

http://www.openoffice.org is freeware compatible with MS Office. However, you need a wideband internet connection to download it. Otherwise, send for a CD Rom disk.

The "installer" alone won't do it for you. You need the software package and that can be bought at any software retailer. If you're looking for pirated software, keep looking. It's illegal.
