Intersting, I went to yahoo and searched the web asking if there were any Christian religions that do not celebrate Christmas and the only one that came up was Jehovah's Witnesses. Puritans who came to the US from England in the late 17th and 18th century did not celebrate Christmas and were persecuted for it, but it didn't take long for them to start practicing the Holiday as a religious organization. Some Individuals today do not celebrate some holidays, including Christmas for personal reasons or for the fact that they have done their own research and have stopped celebrating the holiday.

None of the Witnesses I know own Christmas videos. Are these particular videos about the holiday or about the birth of Christ? If you feel so strongly, you should ask this person why they have these types of videos. My Witness friends wouldn't condemn this person for their actions, they would just realize that this person will answer one day to Jehovah/God for his decisions. I am not a Witness but I have many friends who are and I have attended many meetings at the Kingdom Hall with them. When they were faced with issues like this they remembered that the Bible does not specifically address things like this, so it is left to ones own discretion and the ultimate decision is up to God.

Im not a Jehovahs Witness... but I suspect it has more to do with not setting aside a specific day to commemorate something than the actual historical event itself

they might celebrate a Biblical event but not set aside a special day for it, so having a movie about an event might be all right

not exactly the same thing

At least you know the right kind of people.
Why do you say "Witnesses" ? You mention one person. Please get your facts straight before you condemn others.
I own movies about the birth of Jesus, but that does not make them "Christmas" movies.

Follow Sunpekes advice.

Uhhh perhaps for entertainment?

Why do Christians own horror movies? Killing is wrong isn't it?

Do you have to be in the mafia to watch The Godfather?

No one has to be a Radical to know what's right and wrong. Just because I don't smoke doesn't mean I snatch all the cigarette ads out of my Hair Magazines!

Ask the man to explain himself. Tell him you know he is a witness.

one reason might be that seasonal movies are family oriented.
