I love using my crockpot but have been unable to find ground beef/turkey recipes where you DON'T have to cook the meat, etc. first. Maybe it's simply not possible or suggested to throw raw meat in the crockpot but if I can do it with chicken, why not ground meat? Most recipes of this type have noodles which also have to be pre-cooked. I mean really, if I have to pre-cook everything first why even bother with the slow cooker at all? So if anyone has any recipes to not have to pre-cook meat or anything else, please share. Thanks!

Barbecue Meatloaf
INGREDIENTS:
2 to 2 1/2 pounds ground chuck
1 can tomato soup, divided
1 egg, slightly beaten
1 cup crushed Ritz crackers
2 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon plus 2 teaspoons
Worcestershire sauce, divided
2 tablespoons dried minced onions
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/2 cup water
2 teaspoons prepared mustard
2 tablespoons brown sugar
PREPARATION:
Combine ground chuck with half of the tomato soup, egg, crackers, honey, 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce, onions, salt, and pepper. Mix well and form into a ball. Place a crinkled length of aluminum foil in the slow cooker/Crock Pot so the ends extend an inch or so out of the pot.
Place the meatloaf in the pot (the foil will make it easier ro lift the meatloaf out and keep it out of the drippings).
Combine remaining soup, 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce, the water, mustard, and brown sugar. Whisk together and pour over the meat loaf. Cover and cook on low for 8 to 10 hours.
Serves 4 to 6.

Well, most recipes do want the meat cooked first, but I just put my ground meat in first, let it go until cooked and add other ingredients once ready for them.

Bearocks:
2 lbs ground turkey
put in crock and add dried parsley, rosemary, tyme, a little poultry seasoning, and a couple Tsp minced garlic and let it go. The thing is you have to check it every so often to crumble it.
Next add 1 large cabbage that has been cut up into chunks, 1 large onion, chopped, and 4 carrots peeled and shredded.
Let cook on low for a couple of hours.

Next I use any basic yeast bread recipe, and after rising, punch down, make into several dough balls of the same size, and then roll out. Place flattened piece onto a parchment paper covered cookie sheet, add 2-3 Tsp filling, and pull up sides and twist, making a little "pouch" of sorts. Repeat until you've got a full load 6-8 bearocks, and brush with egg wash and bake at 400 degrees for 12 minutes or until golden brown on top. Serve warm, yummy! This sounds like a lot of work but these are the bomb! Good Luck!

Tips: If you don't want to be bothered with the bread making, then buy frozen yeast rolls (like Rhodes) let thaw and roll out those instead. Also this is awesome filling for egg rolls and even just to put on a nice thick burger bun.

Most ground meat must be cooked first (a) to remove excess fat and (b) so it doesn't look so anemic when cooked. It needs to be browned for flavor enhancement, too.

Why don't you brown 4-5 lbs. of ground beef or turkey at once, divide into 1 lb. packages, and freeze. Then when you want a ground meat crock pot dish, you have the meat already browned and premeasured!
