Generally speaking, the site is safe and easy to use. They try to verify every program to make sure it doesn't contain viruses, etc. but nothing in life is 100% certain except death and taxes. So if you download something, save it to your desktop, then scan it for viruses. I've never had a problem doing it this way.

It's a large download site. The site itself is legit, but all those downloads on the site are made by various 3rd party developers (they have no affiliation with tucows).
