4 days a week? That's all? Toughen up! Don't be so dramatic..."it's like dying already..." God forbid something bad actually does happen to you and you are faced with a REAL crisis/trauma.
You can always call family and friends.

I think we need more info here. Are you an adult and have to be away from your family 4 days a week because of work? If so, maybe you should talk to your supervisors and let them know that this situation isn't working for you or your family. Maybe they could come up with a compromise, or decrease the number of days that you're away. And if having to travel is really a deal breaker for you, then maybe you should consider a different job altogether.
If you're a kid and you're homesick because of camp or school, the best thing I can tell you is to hang in there and stick it out. The situation is only temporary and you will get past the homesickness. When I first went to college, I went months without getting to go home and it was really hard at first. But after a while, it just became routine and the more friends I made and the more involved I got with activities at school, the less time I had to sit around feeling homesick. It helps to stay busy. And of course, keep pictures of your friends and family around, call them, e-mail them, write letters. That way, they won't feel so far away.

This CAN be traumatic for someone on the edge of aggoraphobia. Do you have that? Are you panic stricken away from home? Even children can have this. How old you can make a difference, though...........when you think of who you are actually missing. What is it that you feel you need to be home, for? The fear of leaving home is aggoraphobia.......and that is totally traumatic when away from home, or even thinking of leaving the safety of home.
Do you feel safe and comfortable away from home? Do you believe your home is not a safe place for the people in it, when you are not there? Very important to ask yourself. Do you really just miss home? Are you staying some place you do not like? Is it so different from home? Ask yourself these questions, answer honestly, and then, see if you can figure out why you feel this way.

As my sister always says "When life sucks, change it." Bring pictures with you or call home regularly. Your upset about how much you miss home when you aren't giving the place you are a chance to grow on you. Look around, get lost, go to a bar and talk to a complete stranger. Do anything that takes your mind off home for a bit, it'll get better.
