Hundreds, if not thousands, of religions have come and gone in the world. Yours will be no different.

The Roman Catholic Church has been around for a very long time. Every year, we gain many thousands of new converts. So if the Church is, as you suggest, destined for the theological scrap heap, it won't be happening any time during my lifespan.

As long as one person believes it isn't gone from the world. Many religions have been assimilated into the current religions if you look for them. It is actually kind of interesting how we really don't let go of belief's....they seem to morph one into the other. This happens as society changes. It is also interesting to see how "demons" are the same from culture to culture before they had any contact with one another....like dragons, vampires etc. Are our God's truly any different than the God's of the Greek, Roman or Egyptian? If you look beyond the myth?

That is exactly why I choose to have no religion! There is no way to prove any religion to be the correct one, if a correct one exists. So why waste time worshipping something that you have no proof of? Just live life as best as you can because it makes you feel good now. Not because you think you'll get the reward of heaven after you die.

As I am agnostic, I will be a part of another religion I guess. By extinct, in this context, would mean that I have no longer decided to be agnostic. So, it doesn't bother me.

It won't happen, as long as *I* am still alive. But, after I am dead, What do I care if my religon dies out, and everybody after that goes to Hell (or whatever.....). I just need to make sure that I don't have any descendants, or if I do, they deserve what they get for abandoning the faith.......;-)
