A guy I have been interested in and I have been having problems. He called me on Friday to initiate a conversation because he wanted to work out things between us. We both took blame for the things we had done wrong. Overall it was good except for one thing. He told me that whenever he started feeling like he wanted to be serious about me, he had to pull away. That he felt like he could not give me what I deserved in that type of relationship right now. He has a career that is really demanding. He would have time for me but just doesn't feel that it would be enough. So could he have been seriously been telling me the truth or just a line?

If his career is really in fact demanding, then he might just be telling you the truth. He feels eventually this will come between the both of you. If a guy is really into you, he will find ways to fit you in his tight schedule. A girl knows when she is being deliberately ignored or not. Could it be deep down you are feeling this? Then you alone can know if he is being sincere. It is a good sign that he was willing to work things out between the two of you. Shows he is interested in the relationship. I think he is telling you the truth. But, you have to ask yourself do you want a relationship with a person who even you are questioning whether you are being given a line or not. Anyway, I think you should actually just be friends with him and go and find someone else. He has a demanding job, you do not know whether he is telling you the truth or not and you both have had problems before.
So, move on.

Well you know love is not easy, if he really loves you he is going to try and make time for you. You know when you really love somebody you will do anything to be with that person, even if he has a demanding job i am sure he at least have time to call you when he can even if you don't get to see each other that often, i say you both have to talk again to see if it will be worth it.

Would you like some cheese with your wine? The guy doesn't wish to commit and yet wants a back-up plan in case things don't work out. However, if you feel like he's being honest (since you know him better than I since I'm just on the Internet), then stick with him.

Honestly, it sounds like he's giving you a line. I dated someone like that once, he turned out to be a "player" unfortunately. If they actually have to tell you they "have to pull away", it's a line, you know? If I were you, I'd move on so you can meet someone who really wants to be with you instead of "making excuses" to not be able to be with you. It sounds like he wants you to feel guilty for what he's telling you so "you'll make things better". You deserve better, go for it girl!!

i seriously have no idea of what is going on in his head!...but what i can advise you on is that dont read into to much what he is saying...i know from experience that guys tend to say thing that they dont mean...they can be sincere at times but mostly they too dont have a clue of what they want...at that moment it just feels right to say whatever...but look...if you like this guy dont sit around waiting for him to come up to you and tell you how he feels...tell him how you feel and if he cant give you what you need then bugger him! You cant wait for him forever! Dont waste your time!

You wanted honesty, didn't you? Well he's telling you exactly how he feels and now it's up to you to decide if you can accept him on his terms. He could be a good friend but he's not ready for a commitment.

he could be telling the truth --- too many people have trouble with priorities --- when it comes down to it relationships are far more important than a career ---- i found that out after losing everyone i cared for --- thankfully i have found someone else that cares for me and she is my number one priority

thats a tuffy. It could mean he's wondering if you will even stick around if he is always working or if you will cheat on him. Or its a line just see how much he wants it you know. If he doesn't even try then you know its a line.

i really don't know why these guys have a girl at all.no guts,thats my feeling.everyone works has a girl feed their kids,can't stand these dudes.acting as if they are holding the world[hercules] call him that and kick him and tell him its time to get serious.if it was our country we would have cut off his .............!
