i recently started a new diet and i was wondering if i would loose weight if i stuck to it
i have a digestive biscuit(non chocolate) in the morning with a coffee and a banana then i snack on vegetables and fruit ie peppers, carrots, tomatoes and things like that until tea time when i have a meal (my normal size portion of meals that i like ie chicken dinners, tuna pasta) then i continue to snack on the vegetables and fruit for the rest of the day occasionally having some wheatabix.
is this diet going to help me loose weight and is it still healthy?

It sounds healthy and what I have learned about healthy eating is that eating several times a day increases your metabolism which burns more fat. Plus you don't feel like you are starving yourself all day! I would say this is one of the best ways to "diet". Good luck to you! ;)

sounds good and a multi vitamin would also be a good idea. Also stop snacking a few hours before going to sleep. Keep a record of what you are eating and if you do not feel a bit hungry at meal times have less snacks and smaller serves. Weigh yourself once a week to see how things are progressing also measuring the largest area around the body middle (the gut area) will show if you are on the right track. About 1/2 kg loss a week is regarded as a healthy weight loss. If you are losing more increase the snacks if less decrease but don't get discouraged just persevere for your health sake as well as your appearance.

the best way to loose weight is to eat a healthy balanced diet with plenty of exercise. Diets like the one that you have started is only a quick fix. Try getting up in the morning and eating boiled egg and slice of toast or 2 wheatabix with skimmed milk

for mid morning snack eat a piece of fruit

for lunch try salad with loads of fruit and veg

for dinner eat meat and steamed veg

When on a diet never go without anything you like, so if you crave chocolate have one square in the evening when you are relaxing.

try to drink 2 litres of water per day also which will also keep hunger away and do 45 mins of exercise like walking jogging per day. Fad diets don't work eat sensibly

just keep eating out of the 5 food groups and lighten down on the coffee because it has caffeine part of the oily sweets group. Instead of drinking coffee try drinking OJ, apple juice, milk, or any other type of juice. Just not a V8 for breakfast. Also eat a little more breakfast than just a banana. Try mixing a banana with other fruits or eat toast and applesauce. Also try the BRAT diet. Brat stands for bread, rice, applesauce, and toast. Just don't use it too often. You still need veggies and meat. Just try to eat the correct amount of servings of each food group and you should be fine. Email me at jessicawobus@yahoo.com for anything else you need to know.

Why DO you women make such a thing about their figure, shape, and weight?

If it is to satisfy their own well-being, then whatever weight you are, if you feel good then that is all that matters.

Take my advice as an 'oldie' who has been through the treadmill. Figure and looks are the first thing that strikes a male. But this is only temporary.
Then the personality kicks in. You can have the best body in the world, but if you are not happy with it - and what woman is happy in her own body! - then you will become boring.

If I had my choice between a heavy woman with a great personality and sense of humour, or a doll with a figure to die for who was boring, then it is no contest.

Do you think people are interested in you - or your body? Remember, you have to talk to the people who are interested in your body next morning!

Be what you are meant to be: learn to live with it: and stop these silly diets.

Better the lass that is plump; knows she is plump; and is happy with that. She is a cheerful soul who has comes to terms with her body.

Forget the diet. Live a little!

First off, to lose weight, you need to burn more calories then you consume. So if you are sitting around doing nothing, you could still not lose a pound.

Second, its not healthy to eat constantly all day - even if it is fruits and veggies. If your body doesnt need the calories, it will go to fat.

Third - the suggestion for eating is 5-6 small meals a day: breakfast, mid-morning snack, lunch, mid-afternoon snack, dinner, and possibly a mid-evening snack (at least 3 hours before bed). If you aren't hungry for your meal/snack, you are eating too many calories during your last snack/meal.

Dont forget the water!

On the face of it, it looks ok. but........you are getting a lot of fibre....are you drinking water?...........what about the extra nutrients and vitamins you are missing out on? I would suggest you go with a plan that works and has real people supporting you like I did. You can still eat the above sort of foods but I am worried you are not fully getting all the minerals and nutrients you can.....If you are cutting back on the protein in your diet then your body will start to cannabalise itself. You lose weight by losing muscle!! You need to support it properly and supply it with the protein it needs for body and brain function!!! I lost loads you can too. Diet is individual and this one may work for you but when you stop your body will put it all back on!!

Wouldn't say a digestive biscuit with coffee is the best thing in the morning!!

How about a cup of hot water with a squeezed lemon, or green tea??

A bowl of cereal (bran flakes, weetabix) with skimmed milk, or oats would keep you more full than a biscuit.

Other than that, its sounds great... Good luck!x

It sounds very healthy but are you getting enough protein? So long as you get some protein for dinner then that's fine.
I would substitute the digestive biscuit for a piece of wholemeal toast at breakfast
