I'm switching from a recirculating fan to an outside-venting hood in my kitchen, but I need someone to run the ductwork. Any recommendations? It's a fairly small job, only going about 6 feet with a single 90degree angle I believe, punching through the ceiling and then out through the exterior wall and aluminum siding.

I'm in Fairfax County - how much can I expect to pay (approximately) to run the ductwork?

anytime you deal with a wall or roof penetration, it's not a 'simple easy job' it may be for a professional, however, waterproofing must be done as well as getting it right so it doesn't look hacked. Big problems can arise from doing this wrong.

You don'tmention where you're from, so recommendations are hard to give.

call a local HVAC contractor and talk to them... they'll talk to you for free and then you can get an idea of what to expect and what you need to ask about.

Go to Lowes and have them send someone out.
