no, every war has been protested. I find that protestors are the main cause of failures in war. they undermine our military, divide our country and govt. and also cause conflict at home. protesting a war is an insult to our govt. and our military troops, because it demonstrates that the ignorant people who are at home watching the war on tv, dont think that the troops can handle the war. and personally I hate protestors because what they do should be considered an act of treason. the soldiers want victory, the govt. wants victory. the protestors want failure due to their greed and selfishness, and unwillingness to get the job done. and one other thing, how does it seem that protestors would fight our own govt. but cant even fight our true enemies. its sad, to many freedoms are given, the people should not be allowed to do what they are doing.

I don't know any 'nay sayers', but I do know many courageous protesters to an unjust occupation of the Middle East. These people risk their careers to state their views about the creation of an empire. In nearly every case in history, the motives for conflict are clouded by propaganda and staged events suited to motivate the population.

In the case of Nazi Germany, protesters were murdered or rounded up and put in camps. Today, despite ruthless government-backed attacks on organizers and demonstrators, people protest in South America. People protest and disappear without explanation the next day. I would not call these people 'nay sayers', I'd say they are courageous protesters.

In the case of the Middle East occupation by the US, the US citizen is paying a huge debt so that a few large corporations and individuals can reap profits. Our mass media serves to avoid controversial stories of any importance and they serve the government in reporting stories as the government would like the stories to be spun.

To answer your question, I think 'nay sayers' are those who passively sit back and do nothing. Today we are beginning to see some organized protest for unjust occupation of sovereign nations.

We are seeing the CIA taking an active role in creating and re-writing history. Fortunately, we have very few 'nay sayers', instead we have people who are willing to put their lives and careers on the line for truth.

It will always be met with protest.

War is always an economic event that is waged by a ruling elite and which comes at the expense of both those whom war is being inflicted upon and the underclass of the warring nation itself. The longer a war rages, the more that underclass of the warring nation begins to realize what is really happening.

The Revolutionary war, and several indian wars/battles had no protesters...These were folks who wanted the other guys off thier land. These types of wars are never protested. Some wars (fights) just happen.

Massacre needs to study a little history. There was quite a vibrant anti-war movement during the WWII era. They took quite a beating after Pearl Harbor for their isolationist stance and were relegated to the peanut gallery as a result.

Along with the Neville Chamberlain crowd in Britain during the 30s, they were responsible, in major part, for Hitler's ability to coalesce his power and perpetrate the horror that was Nazi Germany. Instead of sucking it up and nipping things in the bud (see George Bush vs. Saddam Hussein) and relegating Hitler and his Nazis to a minor entry in history books, the anti-war crowd allowed him to break treaty after treaty, develop his military illegally, and generally do anything he wanted to do.

If you look at a total dictatorship country, then I doubt you'll see too many protesters. Or at least those that are still alive.
