I've used this gel for a couple of years but it's getting harder to find. I found out that it's been discontinued so I am going to have to choose a new gel. I like the hold I get with this gel, it's very smoothing and it doesn't leave my hair stiff and gross like some gels. I tried the control gel (same brand) and really don't like it!

Thanks for any help you can offer!

ohmyhairstyle- my hair is straight... thick but fine so I tend to deal with flyaways if I don't use a gel.

I'm so sad that they discontinued the texture gel, I loved it so.

Well, if your hair is straight it'll be hard. The best thing to do would be to get your blow dryer after you've gotten out of the shower, a can of hair spray, and a clean towel. Scrunch it without using anything for a moment or two and then hair spray it a little and use some of the hair gel but not a lot. Mousse works better than gel, by the way. After you do that use the towel to scrunch it so that your hands won't get sticky from the hair spray and gel/mousse and so your hair doesn't get messed up because your hands have a bunch of sticky stuff all over them. When you scrunch it with the towel, turn the blow dryer on low and dry it for a few moments before doing it again and then wet your hands and scrunch it with your hands for a few moments before doing the towel and blow dry thing again. It takes about thirty minutes, for how long your hair is, if it's thin. If it thick, it'll take a moment or two longer. Also, if your hair is wavy a little, all you should have to do is use a little mousse and hair spray. Easiest way. Two French braids before you go to sleep, a little hair spray in the morning when you take them out.

My husband uses "Got2B" Gel, the spikey stuff, but they have tons of other brands, some just for making sure it doesnt leave your hair stiff. Google it and check it out!
