Yes I have including my precious dog. It was one year ago this month. I just picked up and went on. I have a husband and 3 kids. We moved into a hotel for 3 months and then bought a new house. It seems like a life time ago. We live in a wonderful town and many people donated things we needed for our girls and furniture.
We have moved on and many people still can't believe that we just went on with life. That is what you have to do or you will go crazy. I cried many tears not for the things I lost but for my dog and for my children having to go through such a horrible thing.
My belief is that everything happens for a reason even if you do not know what the reason is. You need to trust God and know that you will be fine in the end. I know one day I will look back and know the reason this had to happen to us, but right now I am just happy that we are all safe and healthy.

I've lost 2 evolutions of apartments, not by fire though.
Really not that big of deal, it's just stuff, even though some of it was really nice stuff. Just went out and upgraded my stuff and ended up with better apartments.
Suprisingly, I never felt mad or upset in any way. Even though some say I had every right to be.

15 years ago a fire broke out in my neighbors house. I raced inside to get his son which was successful, but getting his wife was unsuccessful.

The impact of that emotional midnight is one not to talk about in detail. When you lose a human being in a fire what in your words can you really say.

My family lost everything we owned in the first gulf war. We came to America and we rebuilt from scratch. I'm currently working as a senior software engineer for a healthcare company. Life they say is always stranger than fiction.

IT SUCKED.
I got over it.
I never imagined how it would be.
I just know I do not want it to happen again.
I think I'll go check the batteries in my smoke detectors RIGHT NOW!

Except maybe for a dropped marshmallow, never. I've never been in a house or car fire.
