You now, the ones that rocket up and down the canals in Bangkok, using a car engine as the power-plant. Fantastic, aren't they?

If you are not used to boat-riding, especially in a muddy river like the Bangkok river, you better be prepared to feel sick and fall sick! Otherwise, they are fun and entertaining and one can see places around easily away from the polluted streets of Bangkok!

I think they are a blast. I get a little nervous being splashed with water from the Chao Phraya, bring some handy wipes, keep your mouth closed, and sunglasses on :p But as a general means of travel they are cool as hell.

In the south for island hopping and camping snorkeling trips I love them.

They look much prittier than a speed boat, there is more space to relax and I'm sure they are safer.

One of these days I am going to lose my head! I wish they did not lift the props out of the water when swinging the boat around, I swear people must get their heads chopped off from time to time.

Have you notice that with the engine configuration this way, they can actually go through very shallow waters by raising the propeller to the surface?

Quite unique.
