Because religions believe that they do not have to have proof.... the faith in that religion is all they need.

Their holy books are enough "proof" for them to believe in everything that is written.

I'm not sure what Universal Truth is and I'm going out on a limb to say most of us do not know what it is. Maybe you could let us know.

However, there is very little that can be proved except in mathematics. I guess if you want proof that Jesus walked the earth, that would come in the form of today's date. This year is 2007 A.D... 2007 since what? 2007 years since B.C. -
B. C. means Before Christ. A. D. means Anno Domini or literally, "The year of our Lord." So if Jesus did not exist why would the entire calendar change near the time of his birth? There's an obvious answer. He did live and was significant enough to change the very time frame of most of the world as we know it today. No other figure has ever done that in the history of mankind. That must say something to the direct history of whoever this man was. And since A.D. means "The year of the Lord" Jesus MUST be the Lord.

I would challenge the idea that any truths have been proven 100 percent. When you prove something 100 percent, then you no longer need belief. Belief is the committment to something that cannot be fully proven. That is often call "the leap of faith" and is common to all religions.

Prove - to make something totally understandable by human intellect

The problem - you are dealing with a content that is outside the range of human intellect. Human beings are the creation of an almighty power - there is no way human mind can understand the totality of God.

Therefore it can never be the case that the totality of God - those things which are contained in religious belief - can be proved.

So the answer to your question - when we die, we will be faced with the reality of what we have been told in a way that will make it possible for us to accept it. We will still - even after death - have the free will ability to reject it. But it will be there.

That's about as close as it's going to get.

I don't know about universal truth being 100% prove, but I agree religion does not come close.

One thing is certain, mathematics based on our definitions is 100% true.

Universal truth is NOT proven 100% That's just the thing. EVERYTHING is nothing more than perception. Remember, it was not THAT long ago when the earth being flat was a "universal truth" ;)

Universal truth is not 100%.

Some philosophers and scientists, most notably Karl Popper, have asserted that no empirical hypothesis, proposition, or theory can be considered scientific if it does not admit the possibility of a contrary case.

Most religions are faith based, which gives no room for proving their beliefs.

Universal truth cannot be proven as of yet, because our globe is still fighting for other truths that rub others truths the wrong way.

Universal Truth has not and probably never will be 100% proven depending on your definition of what truth is.

And, so, you went to the school of universal truth? Like that of Joseph Groebells? Truth is a collection of known and unknown factors put together by groups of people that insert conclusions and suggestions to fill in the blanks.

Universal truth is, therefore, an unknown.
