actually mean it.
I did, but I didn't mean it, he was too dull.

I have and actually meant it. After having a purely sexual relationship w/ this one girl, she wanted to kick it up a notch and become an actual couple. So we became a couple but I quickly realized that I wasn't ready to be in a comitted relationship so I pulled out that line. She's a great woman but at that time, I felt that I couldn't give her everything she deserved.

I find it so much easier to blame it all on me...."i'm not ready for a relationship yet" or "we live too far away from each other" or of course "I just dont think we are right for each other"
Much better than actually saying that you find certain things really irriating and a deal breaker....

I have and have also has that one used on me also. Its seems to be the kindest thing I guess nowadays to not hurt someones feelings, but it hurts anyway and all that phrase really means is, I am dumping you and I dont want to explain why.

yes i guy used that line on me. he did mean it he txt me like a week later asking for me back, saying that he had some emotional issues at the time when he dumped me. but it was a case of too little, too late, i did not take him back. anyone that unstable, aint for me! that line should be banned, its not a proper reason at all

No, that's the universal "I want to break up with you because you are ___ but I don't want to hurt your feelings". Everyone knows what that line means and it doesn't stop it from hurting, it just makes the person saying it feel better.

I said it once when I didn't mean it. I tried to break up with him saying it was him, but he cried and and tried to change. So the next time... I said it was me. Worked much better.

Every time I did it! Obviously I was attracted to them to start with, but I got bored! So it wasn't them it was me! I've been with my husband for 8 years so I think I'm cured.
