About 18month ago, my step dad became ill again, he used 2 be a shitzophrenic, but recovered. We, my mum, brother n myself, have tried everything 2 get him help, but anytime we manage 2 get someone 2 come see him, he acts completely lucid. He fools them all. He is aggressive towards me and my brother, accusses us of some conspirecy theory 2 get him out of the house, he carries a wooden samuri practice sword around with him and told my mum he is a squire. he started practising samurai dress head 2 toe in combat gear in the garden. He has developed about 7 or 8 different personalities.
We are at our wits end, I am actually frightened now, for my mum and my children and myself.
I do not understand how a person can be so ill, but no one else can see it, well, no offical bodies, everyone we know, can see he is ill. Actually I know with schitzophrenia all the personalities look after each other and he can appear lucid when he needs to, but, does he have 2 hurt sum1 b4 we can help him??

You can go and discuss this with his doctor- they cant tell you any confidential infromation about him but in this case will appreciate any further information you can give them. Does he still take any medication?

This does sound very like a friend of mine who appears normal usually but has really weird freak outs where she is not herself. Eventually last year she finally did something (which she either cant remember or wont tell us) but ended up sectioned in a mental ward for 2 months. Thankfully since then she has taken her medication and been fine.

Dont worry you just need to speak to the right people and they can get yo9u the help you need. Does he have a CPN? If so maybe they can help.

I suggest contacting a mental health body like Mind-ask their advice-keep in touch with his doctors-and explore the possibility he has an infection-like lyme disease or others influencing his mental state-or a vitamin
deficiency in his diet--these problems can cause those symptoms. The priority is stop him being a danger to you ,others and himself.

You need to go to his GP an explain this.

Explain that you fear for the safety of your family and that you want this concern recorded so that if something happens you can sue the local authority.

- If your GP believes that you will sue, he will act.
