A friend of mine is having a long distance relationship with a guy she met online for months already except they still haven't met. Well, she recently told me she kissed a guy friend and is now going crazy about what she has done. I told her that this guy she is seeing hasn't made any attempts to see her or give her any sort of real commitment. But she is hitting herself over the head about cheating on her so called boyfriend. I don't know what to say to her...What do you think about the situation???

tell her to do what's best for her. Does she want a guy to go out with on friday night to make her laugh, or does she want to type to a guy? Which one does she have a better chance with?

There's no need to get upset- a kiss is not that big a deal. Definitely it's not cheating. It appears that there's no commitment- it's more like a flirty online friend relationship going on here with the one guy. Tell her she should have fun getting to know both these guys, but to not ignore the one she kissed since at least he's around her and she knows who he is and what he looks like, etc. If she never met the online guy, then just be sure he is exactly who he claims to be.

She's either very lonely or she's nuts. Put some distance between you and this friend if you want. There's probably nothing you can say that will bring her more in touch with the realities of the situation. Chances are good that the 'on-line boyfriend' isn't eager to meet her face to face because he's got another girlfriend. She only knows what he has chosen to disclose. You can tell her that you'll be there for her no matter how things turn out, but to proceed with caution. She seems insecure and desperate.

She's over reacting big time, and if she kissed this other guy than there is a reason for that happening. Tell her that if she likes the guy she kissed than maybe she should pursue something with him. She's wasting a lot of energy beating herself up over a guy she's never met, thats really not healthy and doesn't make sense.

Having an internet relationship is so dangerous for a number of reasons, tell her how you feel but be gentle she might be sensitive about but if she has never had any real contact with the guy and has no plans to it's not a real romantic relationship either way

The online man is a figment of her imagination. She must separate fiction from reality. She needs to get her head screwed on right. You can not trust emailed information. People are soooooooooooo dishonest and by email it makes it much easier. She is addicted to her own fantasy. She needs to let go of the email relationship. It is ruining her real life.

I think she's over reacting. If her "on-line beu" hasnt made any attempts to set up an in person meeting then she needs to dump him and possibly get together with the dude she kissed.

I don't see how she feel like she is committed to someone she hasn't even met yet. She is probably just making a big deal out of it to get attention. Tell her you are sick of hearing about it and to get over it.
