all these new laws and the patriot act make me think america is turning into a christian only nation which scares a lot of people. the idea of a christian only america isnt what america was to be but i seem to see a lot of christians wanting this and christian only rights and laws no more of freedom of religion in america if this happens. when a pagan or a atheist gets fired from a job thats when i think america is no longer free. when non christian religions dont have there own temples or worships i think of christian theoracy real fast. people are leaving america in droves these days because of the christians.

I can see this, and I moniter it cautiously. I'm not american, and I have no intention of ever spending time down there that I don't need to. Religion is very close to the state, not only does it seem to be important to them, but it's also important to be public about it. There are certainly a lot more temples and diverse beliefs in Canada, or at least in the Vancouver area. I honestly hope that a theocracy never happens, but if it does, I wouldn't be caught down south at any cost.

I fail to see how a anti-terrorist act is moving America towards a christian only government. I also have a hard time with this since both sides seem to be thinking that America is becoming the opposite. Granted, Christians will want to legislate their morality, but I don't think many of them are actually pushing for a one religion states.

Unlikely. I suspect that only a disaster of nationally epic porportions would cause America to fall into a true theocracy. However, I have noticed that quite a few evengelical groups seem to be intent on trying to make laws that plainly favor Christian groups. Bush's "Faith-Based Initiatives" spring to mind. The recent push to wedge "Intelligent Design" into science where it doesn't belong, the claims of a "War on Christmas" and more recently on Easter (when it's actually the neo-cons like Bill O'Reilly who are doing the attacking) all hint at a deliberate effort to push a heavily religious agenda. No doubt fostered by the presence of a heavily religious and conservative administration and (until recently) Congress.

As for leaving...where are they going?

"people are leaving America in droves these days " Umm, where did this opinion come from? Certainly it cannot be backed up with fact. Last time I checked people were flooding across the border into America faster than any other country. And this country will NEVER be a theocracy. Do you remember the judge who was fired because he would not remove the Ten Commandments from his court? This kind of anti-Christian action goes on every day in this country and is on the rise. If it's Christians you fear then don't worry. Soon our religious convictions will be declared hate-speech and our Holy Bible will be banned. Then you can have the utopia you've always wanted.

No, and I too fail to see what the patriot act has to do with a theocracy. While it seems President Bush wants to use his own religious beliefs in law making, before long it will be another president in office with slightly different beliefs.

Here's some christian FACTS:

hell was created by christians - so shall they go there!

christians have KILLED more people in the history of humanity than any other group.

christians have persecuted millions of "non-believers" just because they DIDN'T believe in "christianity!

christians are by far the most brain-washed - brain-dead believers in the world today!

Let's HOPE the non-christians can OVERCOME the blood-thirsty, truth-hating christians BEFORE they take over!

Here's the Solution to over-coming the christians:

Create a private, personal, direct, divine Relationship with Our Creator and save your Soul from religion.

Only with Our Creator's Love and Peace will we be Truly Free!

Without God, there is No Love; Without religion, there are No Wars!

"religion is Spiritual fraud"; "religion is the Worse invention of humanity" - Jesus Christ

we've already fought one extremely costly and bloody civil conflict. yet another one may be unthinkable, yet so might O'Butthead turning in our national sovereignty to the United international locations. optimistically any drastic measures that O'butthead instigates for the time of his 'lame duck' era after he loses the election would be straight away reversed by ability of the hot President while he takes place of work.

You might be a bit misguided or underinformed, but we are not heading towards a theocracy. We are overloaded by the media and political obsession with Christianity, but eventually the pendulum will swing back, as is already occuring. Theocracies do not work.

I don't get the connection between the American Patriot act and religion. What is it that you see as the connection?

they are afraid of Islam because Islam is booming just now births and conversions, plus Muslims don't abort babies, have bigger families ( real love for children ) and not focus on the glitter as much in this life. I will take second child over second car anyday. One can clearly see Christian numbers on the decline in the west and Islam growing, this bothers some and causes them to be scared, withdrawing, tightening up.
