This one is so easy I'm suprised no one has answered it yet.
He already has said it. It is the second and third chapters of the Book of the Revelation!
Allow me to elaborate: in the second and third chapters of the Book of the Revleation, Christ addresses several churches (lower case "c" to indicate an individual part of the larger whole). These churches represent the various states of the Christian Church throughout history and today. A number of them have fallen by the wayside and He takes them to task quite sternly. Note that He speaks very frankly and harshly to them, even moreso than He might a lost sinner. This is because these people have acknowledged Him as Lord and pledged themselves to Him yet have grown lax in their obedience and duties or have succumbed to the pressures of political correctness and tolerate immorality. This is not unlike being in a classroom where you parent is the teacher and is more critical of you than other students. That is because more is expected of you, and so in the analogy, He expects better from us.
In each of the set of versus where he addresses a church, he acknowledges their accomplishments in his name and also warns them of their errors.
The fact that these addresses are in the Bible indicate that He knew that there were parts of Christianity that were going to stray from the true path and this is His warning to them.
So, when all is said and done, your question has great merit and it actually has a real answer that is not just opinion and conjecture.
