Today..i clicked on one .pif file.I think that was a Boot Sector Virus.After that my escape button has stopped working & Pc has become very slow .Finally i took the decision to FORMAT my PC but during the FORMAT i am getting the prompt that "Press 'escape' to install a fresh copy of XP" again i become helpless. Plz help....

Try a different keyboard.
If your booting from a windows cd, your not goin gto be affected by any virus....Your keyboard may be the problem....Try plugging it in to another computer to verify this.....
