Thanx. I appreciate it. I was looking for information about this because I've read on the Jini Patel Thompson's book "Listen to your gut" that aloe vera's colon cleanse drink with this mix should not be used, instead she advised an alternative drink without this components. Searching through the internet I've come up with this following article:
http://www.newmediaexplorer.org/chris/2007/01/04/vitamin_c_sodium_benzoate_benzene_a_proven_carcinogen.htm
So I have to make sure if this aloe vera's drink is dangerous or not for my health. Thank you for any information about this.

Yes, indeed the combo of Vitamin C and sodium benzoate has raised a red flag at the FDA. vita c + sodium benzoate = benzene, a known carcinogen. And, yes, it IS a common combination in products. One to avoid for sure!

I just recently wrote about this to my dad, because he's a big pickle lover and sodium benzoate is a common preservative. He's also a religious taker of vitamin C. Thankfully he reassured me that he had already stopped eating products with SB in them, so I was relieved.

So...do a simple google search with these terms in quotes "vitamin c" and "sodium benzoate" and you'll get around 100,000 hits.

Good luck!

you should be analyzing a mountain dew bottle or can to be sure this. I too as quickly as asked this question, and the respond I have been given became exciting to assert the least. you're in part suitable, yet there's a reason that it is not inflicting a reaction. there is yet another factor in there that forestalls it. specifically, the Brominated Vegetable Oil. final factor on the can. This oil prevents the different 2 from reacting with one yet another, and subsequently prevents Benzene from being produced.

i doubt it, vitamin C has cancer fighting/free radical killing properties and sodium benzoate kills yeasts and other fungi..they both occur naturally in fruits like cranberries and apples so i don't think they have adverse or cancer causing reactions when combined...seeing as they are combined in these very healthy healing fruits.
