"Those who believe(Muslims), Jews, Nazarenes (Christians), and Sabians - whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day and does good deeds - shall be rewarded by their Lord; they have nothing to fear nor are they saddened." :[2.62]
Many use this verse from the Qur'an to propose the idea of almost everyone is going to Heaven. the non-muslims should understand the verse properly with the commentry. Here it refers to Jews before Jesus came and Christians before Muhammad came. they must understand the concept of progressive religion. there were about 140,000 prophets sent by god to mankind. but all of them to special and specific nations. only the last prohphet,- Prohphet Muhammad was sent for the whole mankind. and that's the reason God chose to Guard the Qur'an HIMSELF. We Muslims respect The Jews and Christians as they were followers of one God before their own people corrupted their own religion. To be a Muslim you have believe that the Law was sent to Moses and the Gospel to Jesus.

If they follow the true teachings of Moses and Jesus, they would have accepted Islam since it's foretold in their original scriptures. Anyway, how can they follow their true teachings anyway, since the The New testament and the old testament have been edited many times by people centuries ago to suit their standards.

A Christian who believes in the One God and adheres to Jesus's authentic teachings, will go to heaven.
As it is, so will the Jews.
Even tho, they live in the times after Prophet Muhammad.
Logic concludes, that not everyone would have heard of Islam properly, and in the event that they die, they die on the good path because they were following a good path and did not know a better one.

This verse is not for Jews Before and christians before, Quran is valid for all eras.. Who knows, There may be a good Sabian out there who denied Islam because he is misleaded by the media.. While he tried ti get to the truth by all means...
According to Islam, Heaven is for anyone who satisfies God, whatever his faith is...
As one of the followers was reading the book of the dead "Pharaonic book" To Muhammad, Muhammad after finding that this book provides for heaven and hell, reward and punishment, peace and love, he said:
"The author of this book was about to be Muslim".. Quran glorifies those who tried to reach the truth through thinking and adopting other religions, but they couldn't, and Quran promises them a good reward.
You Don't know who will go to heaven and who won't, God will decide all religions at Dooms day.. That's why we are ordered to well treat other religions.
