Am I being shallow?

There's this guy who I see at school and he's recently (last few weeks) been asking me out. Now, that's not the problem. The problem is that he's a nice guy. He's smart, funny, has a great job, and is very sweet. He even has an alright face. Problem? He's fat and that's kind of a big turnoff with me. Not only that but he's short 6'2''. I wish I didn't feel this way because he really is a great guy, I'm just not physically attracted to him...is attraction really that important in a relationship? Boys seem to pick and choose, so why shouldn't I? Er-what would you guys do?

ur somewhere near shallow, but then whos not, every one has likes and dislikes. if ur not attracted to him becuase he is fat then there is nothing much u can do about it. just get over it. maybe u should also try to get over ur prejudice.

your are being shallow, why do looks have to be everything? and 6'2 is not short. he's probally a great guy that would treat you like a queen but since you cant get past your issues you'll never know. you can be with a guy who is fit and good looking and beats the crap out of you everyday...looks are not everything. good luck hope you grow up soon.

Love is the most important, but physical attraction DOES matter. My marriage failed because I didn't feel physically attracted to my ex, and he realized it. You will make it harder for him if you get involved and then always have a headache.

So, don't feel guilty about the way you feel. He'll probably meet someone else who really is attracted to him.
