I want a clit0ral (hood) piercing as i have been convinced by my mate to get one done. Before anyone starts attacking me for my choice, I KNOW it will hurt, I KNOW there is a risk of infection, and I know that things can go wrong such as loss of sensitivity, etc, but i REALLY want one done.

I have done lots of research on the web but no one seems to agree on whether a bar or a ring is better for coping with in every day life, which one is more likely to catch on underwear, which one can get in the way of lovemaking and foreplay.

Any sensible suggestions greatly appreciated!!!

I CAN THINK FOR MYSELF!!!

I have always wanted to get one done as i think they look superb and there is something sexy and secretive about them. My mate had one about 10 years ago and she's never regretted having it done once! She has offered to come with me when i get it done so she can explain to me what is being done (she has a bar piercing). My bloke loves seeing them too but he has NEVER asked me to get one done. And no, I am not going to show it off to my friends.

This is just for me and my blokes pleasure only - just cos we have an active sex life that doesn't make it disgusting!

Just to let you know as long as the piercing doesn't go through the clit itself most loss of sensation is temporary and usually comes back upon removal of the jewelry. This happened to me and all is well now that the jewelry is gone.

Also, you should be doing this for you and you alone, its nice that he supports you but its not his choice what you do with your body. You won't be able to play with the area for 6-8 weeks so prepare for that accordingly.

Its good that you've done your research and looked into this, very few people do so I'm glad to know the risks and usually what you haven't found out your piercer should be able to explain easily.

As far as jewelry, there is just a matter of personal preference of you and the piercer. I prefer to use curved barbells for this piercing as initial jewelry, of course once healed you may wear and use what you like so long as it is high quality jewelry and doesn't irritate you. Curved barbells don't get knocked around as much and tend to make healing a little more pain free overall because of it. They are just as easy to clean as CBRs, so there is little difference there. I do know piercers who would rather use CBRs for various reasons, but like I said its all a matter of preference.

Talk with your piercer about this, your anatomy may not allow for one type of jewelry, so the other would have to be used. Depending on whether you get a vertical or horizontal piercing will effect which jewelry type will be better as well. All in all, take the advice of your piercer, keep it clean and always go to them if you have questions or problems.

I can't really comment about the ring. I have the bar "down there" myself. I've had it for about 6-7 years and have not had a problem whatsoever. It has never caught on my panties or anything like that. The only time I feel uncomfortable is when I wear very, very tight jeans and sometimes the crotch of the jeans will be a little to close to the bar. It's kinda like having a wedgie but in the front. I just shift a little bit and then I'm fine. As far as the pain, in my honest opinion, my tongue ring hurt worse then this pierceing did. I was expecting bleeding and swelling and got none of it. When I went and got the pierceing I actually put on a pad because I was expecting a lot of blood. A pantyliner was just fine. And there were o nly about 3 or 4 spots on it. I was scared to wash it in the shower but there was no reason to be. It was just fine. The little soreness I did feel only lasted a few hours for me. And I was able to wear normal clothes, like pants and stuff. But, then again everybody is different. BTW, the sensation will still be there. The feeling is the same. And no, when you walk around, you will not have an orgasm. I don't know who came up with that BS lie. In fact, most the time, I forget that damn thing is down there. The only I really notice it is when I in the shower. But, here's one piece of advice. When u get it done, make sure it's take. My ex was down there and it came out twice. He was really into it. We were able to put it back in, but if u are with somebody who is very skilled with "going down" make sure that doesn't come out and if it does, make sure he can put it back in.

So.. if you think it's going to get in the way of everyday life, You think it's going to catch on underwear, You think it will get in the way of sex .You know it will hurt, You know it could cause infection, you know things can go wrong, you know you can lose all your sensations......
Can I ask - what reasons DO you WANT it? because I'm really confused!
I don't think you're getting a piercing at all
I reckon it was just a random question :-D

Hey, lightnin' up on the answers. My girl has a ring and loves it. It does do the job of stimulating the clit and can be manipulated with my tongue quite easily. By the way I did not ask her to do it --- she wanted to get one as I am sure a lot of ladies did in the past.

wow your doing this because your friend convinced you? clever .
you can say good bye to any sensation down there during sex as it de-sensitises the area! but if your friend has convinced you then they must be right!

silly girl do things for yourself

well if your doing it for your fella then thats just as bad its not nice to think you have to change that part of his body just to keep up with his past conquests either! hmm nice by the way you are right there is nothing wrong with an active sex life at all thats not the point people are making

"I have been convinced by my mate"

"but I REALLY want one done."

It's not perm, can always be taken out, and in my experience, it's not a big deal one way or the other.

Getting a hood pierced is like getting your earlobes pierced. If you don't end up liking it or end up with another man, you can always take it out.

Just don't do things to your body to please other people. Make sure you really want to do it and not because a guy convinced you to do so.

i think a bar is better, on any piercing because its just less hassle.
if you get a ring it is more likley to get catched on you underwear.

dont listen to thee other people, if you wanna get it done, get it done, try and go to the same person that done your friends,

As much as I enjoy the look, functionally neither works very well. A ring is prettier.

I have a friend who had a boyfriend convince her to get her tongue done. They broke up and now she is so embarrased. If YOU want to have it done then by all means do it but I do not even think I would do that for my husband let alone a boyfriend who you may not even know next month
