Manny has a kind heart to help other Filipino people. But I think Manny is just being used by the administration to beat a congresswoman who is a torn of the President. I think he could help more if he will run as mayor or as a governor. Again, this might affect his boxing career because it's difficult to focus on two different path.

It could be two things.

One, he is naively idealistic. He is swayed by the suggestions of all the dirty politicians surrounding him at this time. He thinks he can serve the people more by running for congressman. But, he failed to realize that he is running for a position in a legislative body. I could justify his decision to go into politics if he ran for an executive post, but for congressman? He simply is not well-equipped to do the work.

Or

He is extremely genius. The lure of that hefty pork barrel is just too great to ignore. 'Nuff said.

But I'd like to think it's because of the first reason. I believe the man has a good heart.

You know who you are...
Please don't use Manny Pacquiao for your own personal gains.

Because he's just like everyone else. In the Philippines, once you're a celebrity, you can be anything. Someday, i'm guessing our government will be comprised totally of celebrities who can't get any decent gigs anymore. Manny is very dumb if he decides to run. Right now is when his star is brightest, he should maximize on his boxing career while he can, that government job will be there for the rest of forever but his youth is only here right now

Because only when in political power can he truly and legitimately serve the Filipino people.

Aren't you sick and tired of traditional politicians who will promise you the moon and the stars and even the whole universe and yet after the elections all promises disappear in thin air?

At least with Manny, he will let his fists do the talking.

Give him a chance, he may better serve you than your corrupt officials.

simply because he can. over there he is HUGE, in movies and everything. he is like michael jackson in his prime over there, or the beatles in england. He is really tight with the president over there too, he will probly run under his party. I would if I was Manny.
