Follow either of these 2 recipes. The first one is a shortcut; the second a classic method.
Cake Mix Brownies
1 box chocolate cake mix
3 eggs
1/4 water
1/4 cup oil
1 12 oz bag semi sweet chocolate chips
1 can sweetened condensed milk.
In a large bowl, mix the 1st 4 ingredients by hand till blended. Set aside. In a saucepan, or microwave, melt the chocolate chips, add sweetened condensed milk and stir till completely blended. Add to cake mixture, mix by hand till well blended. Pour in 9x13 pan that has been sprayed by cooking spray. Bake at 350 for 40-45 minutes. Let cool, cut into squares.
You might want to add chips, nuts, or use yellow cake mix, and white chocolate chips to make blondies.

Decadent Brownies
1 pound unsalted butter
1 pound plus 12 ounces semisweet chocolate chips, divided
6 ounces unsweetened chocolate
6 extra-large eggs
1 tablespoon instant coffee powder
2 tablespoons real vanilla extract
2¼ cups sugar
1¼ cups flour, divided- 1 cup for batter, ¼ cup in walnuts
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon kosher salt
3 cups diced walnut pieces (pecans ok, too)
Preheat oven to 350º F. Grease and flour a 13x18x1½” sheet pan. Melt together the butter, 1 pound chocolate chips, and bitter chocolate on top of a double boiler. Cool slightly. Stir together the eggs, instant coffee, vanilla and sugar. Stir in the warm chocolate mixture and cool to room temperature.
Stir together 1 cup of the flour, baking powder and salt. Add to cooled chocolate mixture. Toss the walnuts with 1/4 cup flour to coat. Then add to the chocolate batter. Pour into prepared pan.
Bake for about 30 min, or until tester just comes out clean. Halfway through the baking, rap the pan against the oven shelf to allow air to escape from between the pan and the brownie dough. Do not overbake! Cool thoroughly, refrigerate well and cut into squares.

Easy to bake with just chocolate chips. Some think hese are too sweet although I don't think so. But if you want, just cut the sugar back by 1/3.

Buy a box of brownie mix, in the cake mix aisle. Get the ones with walnuts in them they taste much better.
Mix according to package instructions.
Spray pan with cooking spray so the brownies dont' stick.
Pour brownie batter in a square pan (box will indicate pan size).
Cook according to package directions.
Cool slightly and serve (I like eating brownies warm sooo much better than when they've fully cooled).
