In regards to my last question:

I'm studying all the different world religions, so For Islam the main problem is Idolatry, for Hiduism, it's selfishnedd and ignorance. I wasn't sure if Mormons had something a little different from Christianity.

Indeed, we do. Jesus paid the debt of our sins so that we all might live in the Heavens.

No. Their is merely one Savior of the international, and that's Jesus Christ. We have faith that Joseph Smith replace right into a prophet, and as such, an exceedingly great guy. What Brigham youthful and others you quoted meant is that without Joseph Smith restoring the gospel of Jesus Christ lower back, all of us does no longer have it and can be misplaced. without awareness that replace into misplaced throughout the time of the apostasy and the keys of the Priesthood this is the Authority to act in God's call how can a guy or woman discover the genuine course lower back to God?

We believe that Christ suffered for our sins in the Garden of Gethsemane, then sealed the act of sacrifice for sin with His death...He freely gave of His life for several purposes, to be the perfect sacrifice for sin, to break the bonds of death for all and to be resurrected so that we too can be resurrected.
We believe the Atonement was made then and that although Christ suffered for all, we still have to repent and come unto Him, we do not believe that a person is "saved" by accepting Christ as their Savior alone. We believe there are many important ordianances and principles in the gospel, not just acceptance.
Go to LDS.org or Mormon.org to find out more. Please go to the source for your information, unofficial sites and information will do nothing but confuse you and give false information.

Mormons are actually members of The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-day Saints.

We believe that the Bible is the word of God. Therefore, we believe that Jesus's death on the cross was for our sins, but that the only way our sins are forgiven, is to ACCEPT that gift.

We also believe that the Book of Mormon is the word of God, and is another testament of JESUS CHRIST.

We believe that sin came into the world when Adam and Eve ate the "forbidden fruit", from the tree of knowledge of good and evil, but, we believe that we are punished for our own sins and not for what Adam did.

Hope that helps.

Yes. We believe that we can only return to our Father through Jesus Christ...our Savior who came to Earth suffered and died on the Cross for our sins.

By the way....thanks for asking instead of assuming or accepting the comments from those who may not actually know anything about the religion.

Mormons believe that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world, that he is God's only begotten Son in the flesh, that through him of him, and by him, all mankind will be saved.
Mormons also believe that through Jesus's grace and love, we will receive eternal life and exhalation in the worlds to come.
Mormons also believe that we need to life by faith, and prove ourselves by following Christ's teachings and living his commandments. We have to show our faith by obedience. IWhile the Savior's grace and atonement is transcendent upon all mankind, we are judged by our obedience, to be assigned to his"mansions, which are many." In other words, according to our works, we receive a place in the nest life. Apostle Paul taught about these "degrees of glory" to the Corinthians.
Additionally, if we only had to just believe and be saved, all of the devils or evil spirits in the swine that left the tormented man whom Jesus healed would be saved too. They, the devils, all cried out "Jesus have mercy on us," thus proclaiming him as Lord. The devils cannot be saved by merely making a statement. We too, must live by faith and works.

Yes, we do.

See www.lds.org for the church's official beliefs regarding Jesus Christ.

I'm not sure what your last question is implying. Don't ALL christian faiths believe that sin is a problem for mankind? Hence the need for a Savior?

To Eatonwrite:

Are you being willfully deceptive, or are you just ignorant of the facts? Joseph Smith wasn't run out of 3 different states for various fraud. He wasn't killed while "trying to break out of jail". Good grief...if your example is what "being a real Christian" is, count me out.

And "the only way to get good information about the Mormons is to read books written by non-mormons"??? Wow. Why in the world would that be true? You're probably one of those kind-hearted "Christians" who goes up to Mormons and says, "No, you don't believe *that*, you believe *this*!" Your special kind of arrogant ignorance is laughable.

Without a doubt Jesus Christ died for the sins of mankind and that His great Atonement made it possible that we all will be resurrected into a perfected, immortal body.

The Atonement of Jesus Christ is incomprehensible because of its magnitude for He had created worlds without number and this very same Atonement affects all the worlds He had created and not just of earth's.

Yes, Mormons profess that Jesus Christ died for our sins and is our Mediator to the Father in whose name we do all.

Jesus Christ is our direct link to the Father in heaven and it is His Gospel that we follow. As for being gods in the after life, Jesus had said, "Ye are gods." (Psalms 82: 6). That is in the Bible. Also, see Romans 8:17.

Yes, we believe that he died for our sins. We believe that we will meet Joseph Smith first, then he will let us into the presence of Jesus and Heavenly Father. Brigham Young told us this.

Yes we believe he died for our sins. But, it's more than that. It was in the Garden of Gethsemane that the blood oozed from the pores of his body: ‘Which suffering caused myself, even God, the greatest of all, to tremble because of pain, and to bleed at every pore, and to suffer both body and spirit—and would that I might not drink the bitter cup, and shrink’ It was in Gethsemane that Jesus took on Himself the sins of the world, in Gethsemane that His pain was equivalent to the cumulative burden of all men, in Gethsemane that He descended below all things so that all could repent and come to Him.

In answer to another question of yours, here are our basic beliefs:

THE ARTICLES OF FAITH
OF THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS
History of the Church, Vol. 4, pp. 535—541

1 We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost.
2 We believe that men will be punished for their own sins, and not for Adam’s transgression.
3 We believe that through the Atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved, by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel.
4 We believe that the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel are: first, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; second, Repentance; third, Baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; fourth, Laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost.
5 We believe that a man must be called of God, by prophecy, and by the laying on of hands by those who are in authority, to preach the Gospel and administer in the ordinances thereof.
6 We believe in the same organization that existed in the Primitive Church, namely, apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, evangelists, and so forth.
7 We believe in the gift of tongues, prophecy, revelation, visions, healing, interpretation of tongues, and so forth.
8 We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly; we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God.
9 We believe all that God has revealed, all that He does now reveal, and we believe that He will yet reveal many great and important things pertaining to the Kingdom of God.
10 We believe in the literal gathering of Israel and in the restoration of the Ten Tribes; that Zion (the New Jerusalem) will be built upon the American continent; that Christ will reign personally upon the earth; and, that the earth will be renewed and receive its paradisiacal glory.
11 We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may.
12 We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law.
13 We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul—We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.
