I've recently become interested in a girl from work. My friends have been trying to help me out and get her and me in the same place at the same time. Honestly I've never been to good with dating and/or relationships. It sometimes seems like she MITE like me but on the other hand shes also just a friendly girl in general, but when she sees me in the mornings when I'm getting off work when shes coming in she makes a point to say hi or "how was your night?" etc. and the other night we worked at the same time because she was helping her team lead with something. We spoke off and on when i could get away from my section. My question is, i read on her my space that shes in a relationship but she never mentions a bf and i asked if she would like to hang out sometime and didn't hesitate to say yes and i got her number. What id like to know is what is the best way to approach this situation and/or ask her on a date?

Just ask her straight up are you single? If she says yes she's single then there is your chance. If it's a no I'm not then you should back off.
