Here's something creative that will be appreciated and you will have fun doing:
Make up a crossword puzzle and have all the hints be personal inside moments and jokes that only you two would know about. Put it on a poster board and add some clipart and some pictures to it!
The crossword puzzle could be time consuming and a bit frustrating ... you could do the same idea with a WORDSEARCH or WORDFIND puzzle.
Put your computer skills to work! Use Excel, get clipart from Yahoo Images Search, copy them, and reformat them, use a gluestick to put on posterboard.
Use graph paper, and pictures from magazines if you are not as good on the computer, and it will give it more of a homemade feeling.

I think a hand-made mother's day card will b the best present for my mother as it can show appreciation of all her hard work for the whole year. It is better than buying all those expensive and fanciful stuff that has no meaning and gratitude for her hard work at all.

A family portrait of you and your children is a good idea, if she has one already, get an updated one for her,,or perhaps get a portrait of her and your children together,,,
i know as myself as i mom i would like a rose bush or some sort of flowers i can plant outside and watch and wait for it to bloom each year

It depends upon her liking and your purse.
In Asian countries ladies like jewelry,saree etc.
Best thing is to ask your mom,what she likes and satisfy her.

take her for lunch or dinner somewhere,or give her a painting portrait.give her jewel .after all you should give her something which's in your budjet.
