The average ratio of K-1st grade students per teacher is 19 to 1. The ratio of 2nd-3rd grade students per teacher is 24 to 1, while the ratio for 4th graders is 25 to 1. The ratio of 5th-6th grade students per teacher is 27 to 1, and the ratio of 7th-12th grade students per teacher is 29.5 to 1.

In our school district it is around 23 for grades k-8. When it comes to high school it can be as few as 12 and up to 25 or so depending upon the popularity of the class.

It used to be around 30ish kids in a room, but the teachers said "oh it so hard to teach 30 kids"...So then came smaller classrooms... Ugh!! Lazy teachers!!
