a pushy person ?for example my neighbor will not take no for answer. She insist we come down for supper. We never know what time we will be back from work. I tried not answering the phone and she keeps calling until i answer. Than we do get down there she talks about cancer.. that big sensitive topic for me and she like obsessed with it.. another time she saw me drive by to get gas and she called me and asked me to come down to her place . When i got back . I said i couldnt . She than had her husband call and i said we had company and they hung up.Im at my witts end..

Eventually people get the hint. For the dinner say no we are spending quality time together tonight then say bye and hang up straight away even if they are still talking.Tell them you are a private person. You have to learn to cut them short and keep walking, driving by or cut the phone call short. Start disagreeing . Dont visit at all. Dont listen. You have to be cruel to be kind sometimes. More importantly you are to nice and have let them latch on and cross your boundaries. Dont let it happen again. When you give a inch sometimes people take a mile. Choose carefully. I have to agree with the other answers so far. You have to tell her no, do not go into detail as to why the answer is no and don't change your mind. Maybe try having a bbq and invite several neighbors (including the pushy ones) and there they will find another couple to "click" with and talk to?

Say you are very busy and you will call them when you have a chance (and mean it). Don't act all wishy washy with them, just be blunt about don't call me, I'll call you. After you have not called them for two weeks, they will get the message.

This needs to stop...You did the nice thing, now its time to put your foot down...Be firm and tell them no, you have to or you will lose your mind....Don't back down....
