Is there such a thing? Been looking online but haven't managed to find one. Also looking for demos of other video editing software. Any ideas? Which in your opinion is the best?

final cut is clearly the best and is the industry standard recognised software, it is so easy to use, and has massive capabilities. but... i never found a trial either. u can buy it pretty cheap off ebay i think - but be careful, apparently every video created can be traced back to the software... so my tutors at uni used to say! and ideally you're gonna need loads of ram to run it properly, unless you're a patient person.

if u really cant afford final cut and need a quick deadline u could try adobe premiere - but that should only be for a quick fix and u should really move to final cut asap, its just so much easier. u can get a trial of premiere from adobe.com

Although Final Cut Pro is good, I wouldn't say it's the best. I'd say it ties with Avid Express Pro, and even Premiere Pro (due to integration with After effects and Production Studio). I'm an Adobe user, and it has been working wonderfully for me. However, Premiere Pro won't run on Macs yet (soon, though), and you really can't do any editing with After effects. So if you have a separate PC, get a Premiere pro trial from Adobe's website, otherwise, I don't think there is a Final Cut Pro demo except for Final Cut Express, which is a cheaper and less powerful version of FCP. Alternatively, you could get Avid FreeDV from Avid's website, and it runs on OS X and Xp. It's totally free, and is quite powerful considering the price. Hope this helps!
