I really love the song "Fields of Gold" by Sting.... Eva Cassidy as well! Would this be an appropriate song to use somewhere in my wedding service? I've heard somewhere that the song is about memory of a past love or maybe about the afterlife, not sure. Lyrics--

Taking the lyrics as they're written, yeah its an excellent song for your wedding. It can apply to love in general not just a past love.

Have you noticed how many people play "I will always love you" at their wedding and its really a break up song?

Congrats on the wedding and I wish you happiness.
God Bless

Nice song but just a suggestion- if you are using this in the church... don't play a tons of songs... and cut the songs if they are longer then what you need. I was at a wedding once where they played like 5 songs.... it was boring... and took forever... the bride and groom actually sat down for it.
Just makes sure the music matches up with your event... don't make the music the event!!!
Good luck!!

If it is a song you love then I think it is appropriate. It is a beautiful song, I too am not sure about the meaning but does it matter if it makes you feel good and will hold happy memories for you. Go for it and enjoy your day, Good luck!
