I agree doctors are retards now a days. OK I want you to try this. It seems you are incapable of having good thoughts without them turning bad. From this I can tell, ! you are capable of good thoughts, and 2 they do change. Think about the one thing that make you the happiest. Now next time your thoughts turn negative take your happy thing and go there, instead of letting good thoughts turn bad kick it in the *** and MAKE it happy. You are NOT weak minded. the fact that you want this to stop proves that. Also next time you have bad thoughts try to surround yourself with people who make you happy.

The " what if's" of anxiety can cause a vicious circle. You feel good and are doing something positive then your mind automatically starts thinking about "what if this" or "what if that" happens and all sorts of scenarios play out to the point of triggering a panic attack.

I know what you are going through as I have gone through it also. I have had panic and anxiety for years and to this day I get the occasional "what if".

I will give you my honest opinion and say that even though meds aren't for everyone, they may be beneficial for a while in your case to assist you in working through how to deal with the "what ifs". I know that I've had a lot of doctors that wanted to hand me an antidepressant and say take this and come back in a few weeks. My family doctor gave me Prozac samples and said these should help.No matter how much i protested and said I needed something for anxiety he just didn't listen. For me that just didn't work. I needed a med that addressed my anxiety and also needed someone or some thing to help me work through the thought that were racing through my head.

I know that there are wonderful therapists that can address the thought process issues and can help you to ease and calm your mind. Trust me when I say that there is nothing wrong with medication if it is needed. Also there is a book available by Dr Claire Weekes called Hope And Help For Your Nerves. This book is fabulous. The Dr. gives very effective advice and lays it all out on how to get out of the anxiety rut. I had to order it from Amazon but it was worth the wait.

You will be able to get through this. Have faith in yourself and know that you aren't alone.

you need to try and get yourself into a positive frame of mind --- easier said than done i know you're thinking --- but there has to be some positives in your life regardless of the cloud over your head .
do you have any close friends you can talk to ? workmates ? anyone that you have any confidence in that you can relate your problems with ( for believe me you are not Robinson Crusoe ) there are a lot like you .
and when you said you went to docs was that counsellor or just a general GP --- reason i ask is because it's a specialist area . i really hope you can find a way through this -- because if nothing else it can be so frustrating --- and there really is light at the end of the tunnel --- please don't despair --- but seek other help --- and as best you can---- yourself . good luck

Go online and look up "The midwest Center for Stress and Anxiety". This is a wonderful program that will show you how to combat the negative thinking and stop panic attacks. I did the program and I was very skeptical - but it worked.
